Cyrus for Minecraft

Minecraft mod maker

Cyrus makes Minecraft mods that run on the server. Custom items, mobs, textures and sounds reach players through the server's resource pack, so nobody has to install a mod loader.

Server mods vs client mods

Client mods (Fabric, Forge, NeoForge) have to be installed by every player. Server mods (plugins) are installed once, on the server, and work with a normal client. Cyrus makes server mods today; client mods are not built yet, and this page will say so until they are.

What a Cyrus mod can include

  • Gameplay code: commands, events, items, mobs, game modes.
  • Custom textures, sounds and 3D models from the Cyrus studios.
  • Data pack parts for recipes, loot tables and advancements.
  • Settings players can change in a config file, with soft limits that warn instead of blocking.
FAQ

Questions

Can Cyrus make a Fabric or Forge mod?

Not yet. Cyrus builds server-side mods for Paper. Many things people use client mods for (custom items, mobs, sounds, textures) work server-side through a resource pack.

Do my players need to install anything?

No. Plugins made with Cyrus run on the server (Cyrus tests on Paper; Purpur is a Paper fork and usually runs Paper plugins, but it is not tested), and builds are ordinary blocks, so players join with a normal Minecraft client.

Can I make a modpack?

Cyrus can bundle several of its mods for one server. It does not package client modpacks.
