Cyrus for Minecraft

Minecraft data pack generator

Data pack JSON changes between versions. Cyrus describes recipes, loot tables and advancements once and writes the exact JSON for your version, checking every item and tag against that version's real registry.

Sunken overgrown temple (example build)

What it generates

  • Crafting recipes (shaped and shapeless), smelting, blasting, smoking, campfire, stonecutting and smithing.
  • Loot tables for chests, mobs, blocks and fishing, with conditions and functions.
  • Advancements with common triggers.
  • Tags and functions, plus the right pack.mcmeta format for the version (pack_format before 1.21.9, min/max format after).

How you get it

Today data pack content ships as part of a Cyrus mod (the build adds the data pack parts it needs). A standalone Data Pack Studio is in private testing and is not open to everyone yet.

FAQ

Questions

Why do data packs break between versions?

Field names, ingredient formats and the pack format number change between Minecraft versions. Cyrus keeps a version-neutral description and writes the JSON per version, so the same pack can be made for 1.21.1 and 1.21.11.

Can I download a data pack on its own?

Not yet on its own: data pack parts come inside a Cyrus mod build for now.
