Installing and rolling back
Put a build on your server, or download it, and go back to any earlier version.
Install
On the project page, use Install:
- Choose a connected server marked Ready.
- Cyrus runs a conflict check against what is already on the server, including mods you added by hand. A duplicate blocks the install and says which one.
- Confirm any plan notes shown.
- Install. If the server is busy or starting, the install is queued and runs when it is ready.
- The result tells you whether the server restarted or needs a restart to load the mod.
You can also download the jar and install it yourself.
What happens behind the scenes
An install is a journaled change. Cyrus makes a backup, writes the files in a staging step, and only then switches over. If a step fails, it undoes the install.
You will see one of these results: installed, queued, rolled back, or rollback incomplete (see below).
Roll back
Every build and revision stays in the project. On the Builds card, choose Roll back to this on an earlier build and install it. Uninstalling removes the mod and restores what was there before.
If a rollback cannot finish, the result says rollback incomplete and lists what is left. It never reports success it did not achieve. See troubleshooting.
When the game updates
If your server moves to a new Minecraft version, Cyrus marks mods built for the old one as outdated and notifies you. Rebuild for the new version.
